Peek at our Week

Our classroom is teeming with life.  A parent brought us in a cluster of wood frog eggs and we've been excitedly watching them hatch and grow.  Hopefully, some of them will have leg buds before the end of the week.

We also have noisy guinea pigs, hungry fish and molting hermit crabs to keep us busy. 

The afternoon class has also been lucky enough to attend several different spectacles. We watched Bannatyne's production of Little Mermaid at Westwood School, attended a talent show in our gym for Music Monday, and got to watch Monsieur Denis have all of his long hair chopped off for charity.

KinderGARDEN Prep

We started our little plants for this year's kindergarten.  We decorated our cardboard roll 'planters and filled them with soil before tapping in various seeds.  Now we'll observe them everyday and watch them thrive in our classroom.  In June, they'll be ready to be transplanted outside.

We use our plant science books to make observations about our seeds as they change.

 

Storytelling Festival

Last week we walked to the Living Prairie Museum to watch two amazing storytellers who were part of the Winnipeg Storytelling Festival.  We loved getting to leave the school for a walk and the artists were incredible.
